Instalando o Beryl no Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty fawn

Adicione a seguinte entrada em /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org feisty main

Importe a chave gpg do repositório

wget http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/root@lupine.me.uk.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add –

Execute update do apt

sudo apt-get update

Se você já possui o driver da nvidia pule para o próximo passo, senão execute

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx

Faça um backup do arquivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.onf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bkp230207

Edite o arquivo /etc/X11/xorg.conf adcionando as linhas

Na seção “Module” adicione

Load “dri”
Load “dbe”
Load “glx”

Na seção “Device” adicione

Option “XAANoOffscreenPixmaps”
Option “AddARGBGLXVisuals” “True”

No final do arquivo adicione as linhas

Section “DRI”
Mode 0666
EndSection

Section “Extensions”
Option “Composite” “Enable”
EndSection

Instale os pacotes necessários para o funcionamento do Beryl

sudo aptitude install beryl emerald-themes

Reinicie o X pressionando as teclas Ctrl+Alt+BkSpace

Após logar na máquina rode o beryl-manager

Pressione ALT+F2 e digite beryl-manager

DICA: Para ativar a opção ON TOP ( No topo ) das janelas execute os seguintes passos

Inicie o Emerald Theme Manager clicando com o botão direito no diamante da barra de tarefas

Themes Settings -> Edit Themes -> Titlebar e edite o campo Title-bar Object Layout adcionando a letra U

Ele deverá ficar dessa forma

IT::NUXC:Normal Layout

    Tenho uma idéia melhor…

    após atualizar o source list:

    sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx
    sudo nvidia-xconfig –add-argb-glx-visuals
    sudo apt-get install beryl emerald emerald-themes

    e be happy!

    Estou com Feisty tb, rodou sem mais configurações, como colocar DRI, Composite enable, etc…

    Mas desde a ultima atualização do X tá dando uns ticks, tique que desabilitar…

    Instalação tudo bem, o que precisamos agora é como trabalhar com a coisa instalada. Seria legal se voce conseguir colocar uns comandos para se usar e ver os efeitos.

    Para que instalar o Beryl se vai ser é possível ativar os efeitos visuais através do Centro de Controle com um clique do mouse?🙂

    Bom! Sempre tive problemas com Beryl de sumir a minha barra de titulos com os botoes maximizar e minimizar…a opção IT::NUXC:Normal Layout tem a ver com isso? Ou viajei totalmente?

    Olá Francismar,

    Não tive esse problema nesta versão do beryl. Está opção é para habilitar a opção ON TOP de uma janela ativa, assim ele irá sempre se sobrepor as outras.
    Uso muito essa opção.

    Espero ter esclareciudo sua dúvida

    Tentei fazer a instalação conforme me ensinaste,mas após fazer o update apareceu esta msg:

    “Falha ao baixar http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/feisty/universe/binary-i386/Packages.bz2 MD5Sum incorreto
    Lendo Lista de Pacotes… Pronto
    E: Alguns arquivos de índice falharam no download, eles foram ignorados ou os antigos foram usados em seu lugar.”

    Estou usando o Feisty 7.04 (32)- Atualizado constantemente.

    Tenho AMD64 3000 512 Nvidia FX-5200 128mb

    O que posso fazer para instalar o AIXGL?

    Faça o seguinte:

    Tente um sudo aptitude update e tente instalr novamente

    Se nao der certo substitua o br por nonus no seu sources.list

    Eu estava com o 6.10 aqui que instalei dia 01/02/2007 e hoje (28/02) eu resolvi passar para o 7.04.

    Para a arquitetura x86_64 o Xubuntu está comportando-se muito bem. O Beryl deu um pouquinho de trabalho no 7.04 (funcionava no 6.10 e instalei de acordo com as instruções e usando o script do Beryl Wiki, facilmente e sem dores de cabeça).

    Porém bastou o reboot após a atualização, reinstalar o BLOB da nVidia e pacotes do repositório do Beryl para tudo voltar ao normal ao término do upgrade.

    Alguem sabe como faco pra instalar o Beryl com placa ATI 9250? Fiz o procedimento citado no wiki do Beryl, mas quando o X sobe da erro. Alguem pode me ajudar?

    Segundo, teria como disponibilizar alguma documentação sobre atualização do Kubuntu 6.06 para o 6.10???

    1- Você poderá baixar o Kubuntu 7.04 neste link[1]

    2 – Para atualizar o Kubuntu para a versão 6.10 execute o seguinte comando:

    * sudo update-manager -d -c

    3 – Você não perderá nenhum dado após a atulização do seu sistema.

    qdo tento atualizar meu 6.10 para o 7.04 ele nao acha 2 arquivos e aborta, com isso nao estou conseguindo atualizar
    vc me da alguma dica?

    Comente as linhas referentes as estes repositórios ( o do openoffice é do Debian cara !!! que mistureba é essa?!?!?! ) no arquivo /etc/sources.list.

    e execute o sudo update-manager -d -c para fazer a atualização.

    Estou tentando atualizar o Kubuntur 6.06 para 6.10, estou tentando usar o comando que me passou:

    sudo update-maneger -d -c

    Mas o mesmo não funciona, apresenta a seguinte mensagem: comando não encontrado.

    O que posso fazer para atualizar???

    Boa tarde a todos! Conheci o Linux através de um curso impresso de manutenção de computadores. Baixeis alguns Live-CDs pata testar ao mesmo tempo que procurava na internet tudo sobre o Linux. Era tudo novidade para mim. Sou usuário de Windows e Macs há vários anos na área gráfica e fiquei literalmente encantado com as distribuições, em especial Kurumin, Mandriva e Ubuntu. Comprei o livro e os CDs do Kurumin 7.0 por achar o melhor para um iniciante como eu. Li e estudei o livro completo, li os tutoriais nos sites, instalei no segundo HD do meu computador e ele funcionou maravilhosamente. Por um dia… Parou de iniciar o X no dia seguinte. Refiz a instalação, particionei um espaço menor para o sistema, coloquei o home num partição separada, criei a partição de swap… E nada de dar o boot. Reinstalei com o boot pelo Lilo e não pelo Grub e não deu certo. Rodei o Kubuntu 6.10 pelo Live-Cd e funcionou perfeitamente. Instalei e a tela ficou tão distorcida que nem os controles do monitor conseguiam corrigir. Usei o driver genérico e o da Sansung. Com o da Sansung as opções de resolução aumentaram, mas as distorções continuaram do mesmo jeito. Todas as distros que experimentei, Ubuntu 6.04, Ubuntu 6.10, Kurumin 6.1, Kurumin 7.0, Famelix, Dreamlinux, Mandriva 2007, Knoppix 5, funcionaram muito bem do Live-CD, mas uma vez instaladas, só davam problemas. Tenho um Pentium IV com 1Gb de RAM, placa ATI Radeon 9600, sem acesso à internet ou rede. Usei tanto os drivers opensource quanto os do fabricante da placa de video e nada deu certo. Não instalei o Beryl, mas mesmo assim o X não iniciava no Kurumin ou a tela distorcia no Kubuntu. Porque as distros funcionam tão bem no CD, mas não no HD? Existe solução? Ainda não reinstalei o Linux e por isso estes dados são obtidos apenas do live CD. Deu uma baita dor de cabeça fazer o Windows XP voltar a dar o boot, refazendo a MBR depois que desinstalei o Grub. O conteúdo do arquivo /etc/X11/org.conf está abaixo. Depois coloco o conteúdo do /var/log/Xorg.0.log. E também o lspci. Espero que possam me ajudar a resolver porque o Linux não roda instalado no meu PC.     Olá! Gostei muito de um vídeo que vi no YouTube do Vista X Ubuntu Beryl e por isso estou aqui atrás de mais informações!
    Gostaria de saber ser existe alguma restrição para uma placa nVidia gforce GO 448 de 64 MB, ou precisa ser uma placa de 128 Mb ou maior para poder rodar como no Vista?

    Já instalei o Beryl no Feisty Fawn, e funciona tudo, mas o que impede de funcionar a 100%, no meu caso, pois que testei isso em dois PC’s com o Ubuntu Fawn Feist 7.04, é o monitor, o tipo de monitor também tem influência. Não é o facto de ser uma placa ati radeon ou nvidia, tudo depende das limitações do próprio monitor, o meu monitor é um Samtron 56E, e por isso tem alguns limites para fazer certas manobras, mas no meu blog existem já alguns efeitos que consegui com uma placa Radeon 9250 128 MB e um monitor Samtron 56E.

    Tenho uma Radeon ATI 9600 Pro 256Mb , fiz tudo como descrito e na hra de reiniciar o X, jah era.. num funcionow mais, como ñ sei resolver o problema, tive que apagar e instalar tudo devolta.

    alguém sabe fazer o beryl funcionar com esta placa de video?

    meu pc eh um athlon XP 1.4ghz, 256mb ram

    eu gostei muito desse avanço gráfico que o linux está vivendo. Sem falar que acabei de migrar para a versão 7.04, e o que vi foi um sistema ainda mais robusto!

    o tipo de monitor nap tem nadaa ver, a nao ser que voce use um monocromatico ou algo muito antigo, fosse assim jogos 3d exigiriam monitores especificos,

    Instalei aqui o Ubuntu ontem e hoje tentei colocar o Beryl…

    Consigo acesar o painel de configurações do beryl… mas não apareçe ao lado da data o seu icone…

    kara instalei o beryl no ubuntu 7.04,iae não configurei depois quando eu ligo o pc eu logo iae aparece a tela e depois do nada some, comecei apertar tudo q botão ate q e mexdo no scroll no mouse,ele faz a para da do beryl do cubo mas ta tudo com aquela cor de uma da opções do papel de parede ,como e q eu faço pra arrumar e tirar isso???, me ajude .

    Alguem tem uma dica pra fzer o meu Beryl mostrar os botoes da barra de titulo , pq quando inicio ele , eles desaparecem e o meu terminal fica com a tela toda branca !! Tem um jeito de ajustar sem precisar instalar de novo ??

    Tava de rolé na net e vi tua pergunta…
    Cara o seguinte vc deve instalar os drivers mais recentes da tua placa e vídeo (provávelmente uma Nvidia suponho) depois entra no console e remove todo o beryl, depois entra na pasta .config do teu usuário e remove tudo q a configuração do beryl vai pro espaço depois instala os drivers da placa e instala o beryl…

    o beryl vc deve ter no seu repositório é só instalá-lo novamente e pimba…

    alguem poderia me ajudar a faser o fundo do cubo aparecer no beryl…ja tentei de tudo mas nuncada certo…
    a imagem fica em uma só cor. modifiquei a resolução da imagem para não ter problema e msm assim nãu da crto
    e tb estou com problemas de quando colocar o mouse no canto da tela não aparece mais as janelas…

    Alguém já instalou ou sabe se funciona o UBUNTU BERYL em um Laptop Compaq Presario V2000?

    Tenho o Ubuntu 7.04 e Windows XP tudo funcionando perfeitamente.

    Vi um video do UBUNTU BERYL no Youtube e adorei, fiquei com vontade de ter no meu notebook, alguem já fez funcionar … se alguém conseguiu me avise por favor … caio@professorcoruja.com.br … Obrigado Caio

    Executei os Passos acima para instalação e após a execução do comando :
    sudo aptitude install beryl emerald-themes
    no final recebos as msg

    idconfig deferred processing now talking place
    E:Failed to fetch http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/pool/feisty/main/0ylsettings0_0.0~0bertyl1_i386.deb: 404 Not Found [IP: 88.191.250.18]

    NÃO SEI o que pode ser, desmontei a imagem do ubuntu server,comentei as linhas do source.list que indica busca no cdrom e enviei novamente e nada de resolver isso.

    como posso estar resolvendo isso ?

    Acho que resolvi o problema adicionando a linha no source.list

    deb http://ubuntu.beryl-project.org/dists feisty main

    e tudo normalizou.
